Ulpiana Aliaj

Daughter of art, Ulpiana Aliaj is born in Tirana, Albania. She begins to study Classical Singing and Piano from a young age. 

After studying at the High School of Music and the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana she moved to Italy where she continued her studies in Classical Music Vocal Performance and concluded her degree  graduating in the “C. Monteverdi” Conservatory in Bolzano. 

Her talent and determination led Ulpiana to start her artistic career early on, in her education years. She makes her debut as Bastianne in Bastien und Bastienne W.A Mozart with the  Mahler Orchestra in Teatro Comunale, Bolzano.

 

Winner of different International Prizes in the likes of: 2005 winner  

of the First Prize in the International Singing Competition “Citta di Barletta”, 2006 First Prize in the International Singing Competition “Eistendorf” London, 2007 Third Prize in “Ruggero Leoncavallo” Singing Competition, 2009 winner of the Accademia Rossiniana of Pesaro “R.O.F” directed from Maestro Alberto Zedda, 2011 Third Prize and the Audience Prize in “Martinelli – Pertle” Singing, 2012 winner of As.Li.Co”, 2016 Special Prize “ Daniela Dessi ” and the Audience Prize in the International Singing Competition Mauro Pagano”. 

In 2017 she debuted her Violetta Valery in “La Traviata” G. Verdi in the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, Tirana. La Contessa Almaviva “Le nozze di Figaro” W.A. Mozart in Teatro Comunale Bolzano,  

a co-production with Opera Leipzig. 

In 2016 she made her debut performance as Mimi in “La Boheme G. Puccini and also Fiordiliggi in “Cosi fan Tutte” W.A. Mozart. She performs Donna Anna “Don Giovanni” W.A. Mozart in National Theater of Opera and Ballet, Tirana. She appears in the role of  Gilda “Rigoletto” G. Verdi in Valladolid, La Coruna and Saragosa in Spain.  

In April 2015 she debuted with success in the Royal Opera Haus of Muskat as Pamina  “Die Zauberflote. W.A. Mozart. Later that year she stages La Contessa d’ Almaviva in “Le Nozze di Figaro” in the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, Tirana. 

In 2014 she debuts La Prima Donna in “Le Convenienze ed inconveniente Teatrali” Donizetti in Statheater Biel/Solothurn Switzerland. Performed Donna Fiorilla in “Il Turco in Italia” Rossini in Winterthur Theater and Biel/Solothurn Switzerland.  

In 2013 she is representing Rosina “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” Rossini, in Spain, in the Theater of Murcia, Zaragoza and Zamora. A co-production with Odessa National Theater. Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni” in the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, Tirana. Die Erste Damme inDie Zauberfloete in Teatro Comunale Bolzano. 

In 2012 she has her performance as Pamina “Die Zauberfloete in numerous theaters in Italy such as: Teatro Reggio di Torino, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Sociale di Como, Teatro Grande di Brescia and also in several cities like Bergamo, Coccia di Novara, Pavia, Bolzano, Trento, Cremona, Reggio Emilia. She delivered the role of Luigia “Viva la Mamma” Donizetti in Dresden with the Dresden Philarmonie. Gilda “Rigoletto” Verdi the Theaters of: Murcia, Malaga, Marbella in Spain. Rosina “Barbiere di Siviglia” in Teatro delle Muse Ancona and Chieti. 

In 2011 she interpreted Lauretta “Gianni Schicchi” Puccini and she also had her debut performance as Pamina “Die ZauberfloeteW.A. Mozart in Teatro Carlo Felice, Genova. Sophie WertherMassenet in the National Theater of Tirana. 2010 Serpina “ La Serva Padrona Pergolesi Teatro Puccini Merano, Forum Bressanone. Gilda “Rigoletto”  Verdi, Teatro Buscoldo Mantova. 

In 2009 she portrayed roles such as Contessa di Folleville “Il Viaggio a Reims” Rossinian Academy of Pesaro, Rossini Opera Festival, Bastienne inBastien und Bastienne”  W.A. Mozart in Teatro Nuovo Verona and Teatro Comunale Bolzano, Adina and Gianetta “L’Elisir d’amoreDonizetti, in Auditorium of Trento and Bressanone.  

In 2008, she played characters including: Airy, Spirit, Cupid, Honour, Nynph and She in King ArthurPurcell in collaboration with the Orchestra “C.Monteverdi” Bolzano.
