UBT Inaugurates Foreign Languages Institute
04/04/2013The Institute of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication was inaugurated today at the UBT. UBT President Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi and Institute’s Director, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kajragdiu, addressed the participants of the inauguration ceremony. They highlighted the importance of the institute, as a new concept, and a bridge of cooperation with the region and the world, which will help our country’s integrations into the Euro-Atlantic structure.
Addressing the audience, which included representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, international officials, media representatives, professors and students of the UBT, and other guests, UBT President Hajrizi said: “The UBT is a modern and innovative institution of higher education in the Republic of Kosovo with offers advantages similar to those of well-known international universities, because in addition to the qualitative programs of studies that it has offered so far, as of today it has the Institute of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication, which will add to the quality of the studies at the UBT and at the same time will help our country’s early integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures.”
Dr. Hajrizi also noted that the institute that was inaugurated today was unique in the Republic of Kosovo, noting that the main goal of the institute was preparing the staff of the public and private sector in the Republic of Kosovo and civil servants at all levels of the institutions, teachers, doctors, politicians, diplomats, police officers, soldiers, judges, and others, to develop and advance their oral and written communication skills in English and other European languages.
Director Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kajragdiu said the institute will make it possible for all those employed in the public and private sector of Kosovo to communicate orally and in writing in English and other world languages with their colleagues from Europe and the world at a professional serious and dignified manner. According to him, this will add to the building of the capacities in the state administration and all public and private institutions of the country which would speed up Kosovo’s integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures. A guarantee for this will be a prepared and motivated staff of pedagogues, professors, and the best university assistants from the country, the region, Europe, and the world, he said.
