The UBT delegation, led by Rector Hajrizi, participated in the annual representation of Kosovo at the AESOP meeting – presenting the vision and model of UBT’s Smart City.

The UBT delegation was on a three-day visit to Venice, Italy: representing Kosovo at AESOP, showcasing the vision and model of UBT’s Smart City and its role in interdisciplinary education, strengthening international collaboration in the field of urbanization, while also visiting cultural institutions and holding meetings with representatives from culture and business, displaying the Albanian identity on the international stage.

The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, along with Director Fisnete Hajrizi and the Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning, Binak Beqaj, stayed in Venice, Italy, to carry out a series of important visits.

The UBT delegation, under the leadership of the Rector, participated in the annual representation of Kosovo at the meeting of the European Association of Schools of Planning (AESOP). Actively engaging in the debate on interdisciplinarity, Rector Hajrizi presented the model of UBT’s Smart City as an innovative model for interdisciplinarity and the innovative and technological ecosystem.

During the AESOP meeting, the delegation met with the President of AESOP, Prof. Thomas Dilinger, the Secretary of AESOP, Prof. Giancarlo Cotella, as well as many deans and leaders of architecture and urban planning schools and universities from various European countries, including Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Finland, Turkey, Poland, and Slovakia, where a mutual willingness for cooperation was expressed. In this meeting, the request and readiness from UBT for organizing the next AESOP Head of Schools meeting and Conference in the following years in Kosovo, specifically in UBT’s Scientific and Innovative Park, was presented and very well received by the participants.
