Aims and Objectives

The Bachelor’s Program in Acting offers students detailed knowledge of the role of acting, theater, and film at local, national, and international levels. This allows students to develop their skills, specifically in managing the roles they will take in various theatrical and film productions, as well as dealing with the challenges they face while practicing the profession of acting.

The mission of this program is to ensure the evaluation and progress towards the objectives of the study program and in line with the mission of UBT in teaching, scientific research, and community service, offering students knowledge so that they can understand, interpret, explain, and summarize the materials of the subjects they study, in accordance with the curriculum designed.

This program is designed to offer a triple combination of studies: essential practical skills, such as familiarity with theater and film, portraying different characters, which involves understanding different types of people and understanding theater and film; skills that students must master as part of the context for Acting.

The Acting program offered to students at UBT is designed considering the research on the need for professionals in the field of Acting in Kosovo. Due to the shortage of professionals in theater and film in Kosovo, the program is entirely based on the needs of these fields, hoping and believing it will create trained professionals who will find their place in the theater, film, and television production markets both locally and abroad.

The Bachelor’s program aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • To ensure that students acquire interpretative knowledge and skills, explanatory skills, and information gathering abilities, enabling them to safely and appropriately practice in their early careers, offering them basic knowledge of Theater, Production, Cinema, Film Production, and Television, as well as the principles of artistic communication upon which their careers will be built and developed;
  • To ensure that graduates are familiar with the Code of Ethics and Behavior, the professionalism required, and the practice of interpreting and explaining situations they encounter and report on them;
  • To familiarize students with the characteristics of imaging techniques, the role of Acting in image creation, both individually and as part of a coordinated system;
  • To raise awareness about the importance of resource management in theatrical, cinematographic, film, and television communication education, as well as the costs and benefits of Acting.

The goals of the Acting program are to:

  • Ensure that students are familiar with the Code of Ethics and Behavior, with the professionalism required, and with the practice of interpreting and explaining the situations they find themselves in and creating them;
  • Familiarize students with the characteristics of imaging techniques and the artistic role in image creation, both individually and as part of a coordinated system;
  • Ensure the use of appropriate reference criteria and professional and ethical guidelines, proper research of cases, and interpretative skills for broader emergency research;
  • Ensure that students are fully aware of their legal responsibilities regarding the reporting of various social and life events;
  • Raise awareness about the importance of resource management in artistic education, as well as the costs and benefits of Acting;
  • Ensure awareness of the developments in Acting, which may be part of their future career practice;
  • Support university learning in the rest of the communicative curriculum, utilizing the power of images to clarify the circumstances of events and television behavior;
  • Enhance the profile of Acting as a career choice.
