Rector Hajrizi Visits Harvard University – Presents UBT’s Model for Smart City, Innovation Ecosystem, and Vision for University 4.0

The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, is on a one-week visit to Harvard University in the United States, where he is engaging in various meetings with representatives from educational institutions, Albanian students, and the Albanian diaspora.

During this visit, Rector Hajrizi will have numerous meetings with representatives of this prestigious university to primarily discuss opportunities for collaboration in various fields of life, including economic development, climate change, healthcare and medicine, security, energy, technology, and innovation, as well as leadership and enhancing academic capacities in Kosovo.

Rector Hajrizi believes that the opportunity to connect with the highest global academic standards offered by Harvard, in conjunction with the potential of the innovative ecosystem provided by UBT in Kosovo and the region, would have an extraordinary impact on improving the quality of life and developments in Kosovo and beyond.

During this visit, the UBT Rector, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, delivered a thematic lecture on creating innovative and intelligent ecosystems, using UBT itself as a case study and discussing its impact on sustainable development in Kosovo.

This lecture was organized in collaboration with the Albanian Student Association at Harvard. A significant contribution to this visit was also made by Faton Limani, a regular staff member at Harvard University and an expert in leadership, as well as Kujtim Thaqi, a professor of biochemistry at UBT, who is currently on a research visit at Harvard Medical School through the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program.

In addition to meetings with Harvard University staff and Albanian students at Harvard, Rector Hajrizi will also meet with members of the Albanian diaspora living in Boston and its vicinity, and will visit the grave of Fan Noli and the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, while also participating in the Albanian festival in Boston.
