On Girls in ICT Day, UBT has trained more than 200 young girls in cyber security

About 200 young girls and women from Kosovo, who are UBT students, and also students from other public and private universities and colleges, have participated in the workshop “Tech4Girls Workshop – UBT Girls in ICT Day”, organized by UBT and the UBT Center, Cyber ​​Security and Privacy, in honor of Girls’ Day in ICT.

 

On behalf of this activity, participants were provided with free training courses from UBT, respectively a certified Cisco Networking Academy training related to cyber security.

 

During the first part of this workshop the Cyber ​​Security Professor at UBT, Blerton Abazi, talked about the ways of protecting privacy in the time of high tech and internet development, as well as about the challenges that the companies and institutions are facing in the aspect of cyber security.

 

Abazi said that cyber-attacks are frequently occurring for countries benefits, industrial espionage or other attacks for individual interest, while saying that this training aims to transmit additional knowledge and protection from these attacks.

 

In the second part of the training, the US cyber security researcher, Daniel Bohannon, has directly demonstrated a cyber attack to see the techniques and procedures commonly used by cyber attackers.

 

This workshop will have other sessions, as for the successful completion of this workshop; participants received certificates from UBT.
