Let’s stay together- University never sleeps!
16/03/2020Honorable UBT students, staff and friends,
I’m writing this message from my home in compliance with the rules and at the meantime, by giving my contribution to society regarding the prevention of further spread of virus which has recently emerged in our country.
Meanwhile, as you already know, owing to the worldwide pandemics caused by Corona virus, (COVID – 19). Due to the fact, within the framework of taking preventive measures, which aim to reduce as much as possible frequent and close contacts with each other. As a result, we are obliged to stay outside the classrooms, laboratories and amphitheatres as well as reduce our presence in classrooms.
Indeed our main priority, is that of having a sound staff and students and face this situations as easy as possible. However on the other hand, being vital means also the state of being active not passive and not lose the precious time our lives waiting.
We are aware of the fact that education is a never-ending activity, even in wartimes. As matter of a fact, the state of being passive is education is the greatest loss, which may be caused to individuals and nations.
As a consequence, UBT staff has designed an integrated system in order to help students and staff to be active and interact to each other even in a crisis, through internet technology online regardless of their location. UBT is consistently working to create a useful platform which is as easy as possible to use for YOU.
The integrated online platform of UBT will enable you to:
- avoid direct physical contact between staff and students, thereby reducing the risk of transmission of the virus;
- to help students get an education, not missing a single day of their precious lives and to enjoy their right for education and information;
- to help staff develop their own and the institution’s plans and works, through videoconferencing and telecommunications, without having to be in physical contact with each other;
- to assist the citizens of Kosovo with accurate and necessary information for an easier and more successful crisis management;
- help each other in any form and for whatever we need. When we are connected to the Internet, we can help each other together.
UBT is ready to put its platforms in use for students and staff of other Universities, but also for our primary and secondary schools, if the Government of Kosovo sees this as the way forward, because everyone should have access to technologies. Supportive education and everyone is entitled to continuing education in such situations as well.
Lastly, I invite you to collaborate, by expressing ideas and ways which are worthwhile to help us operate in these circumstances.
Let’s stay together!
Let’s use make use of technology for our common good!
I once more avail from opportunity, to kindly ask you to take care of health and your relatives.
Thank you for sharing your time with me in reading this massage.
Good luck for all of us!
With respect,
Edmond Hajrizi, Prof. Dr.
Founder and Rector of UBT.
