European Forum Alpbach’s President Franz Fischler To Visit Kosovo

Franz Fischler, President of the European Forum Alpbach, will be visiting the Republic of Kosovo at an invitation by the UBT President, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, and Mr. Gunther Fehlinger, President of the Austrian-Kosovar Association.

Franz Fischler will pay a visit to the UBT to get first-hand information on the work that is being done at this institution.  He will also participate at the conference “Smart Infrastructure Day 2016, on Monday, and at a conference on agriculture on Tuesday, organized by the UBT, with the participation of representatives of the government of the Republic of Kosovo, senior international officials working in Kosovo, officials from the countries of the region, and experts and representatives of local and international companies.

Mr. Fischler will also hold meetings with a number of senior officials of the Republic of Kosovo, including President Atifete Jahjaga, and some ministers, and will be involved in a number of activities.

 

Franz Fischler was the European Union’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries from 1995 through  2004. Currently is president of the biggest Austria-based development forum, the European Forum Alpbach.
