UBT Students and Staff Can Cooperate With Counterparts from Denmark
26/02/2013Invited by some higher education institutions Denmark and with a financial support fro the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which has supported the UBT and the development of the Schools of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning in the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi was on a one-week visit to Denmark. Dr Hajrizi held there a number of important and successful meetings a part of the bid to promote the UBT the higher education of the Republic of Kosovo in general in the international arena.
UBT President Hajrizi with representative of the managing, scientific and research staff of the Roskilde University (RUC). Among others, he met Alan Grongbaek, Manager of the Department for Innovations at the RUC with whom he discussed the cooperation between the RUC and the business community in the field of research programs for the students.
Dr. Hajrizi also met Susan Thomsen Varmer, Manager of the Department for International Cooperation and Administration of the RUC, and Anita Mejens Frins Jensen, board member of the RUC university management, who is also professor at the department of communication, business, and information technology.
At all the meetings with his interlocutors from the RUC University, Dr. Hajrizi discussed the ways of applying the best practices of this university and the Danish universities in general at the UBT in the inter-disciplinarily field of organized studies, projects, and innovations. They also discussed joint projects in the field of education, student’s exchange, as well as joint scholarly events through doctoral studies and European programs.
The RUC Roskilde University is a public university with 7500 students attending course on Bachelor, Master, and Doctorial levels of studies. It was established about 50 years ago and has proven successful in the joint work between different departments of group studies.
UBT President Dr. Hajrizi also visited the Business School “Henley Nordic” in Copenhagen, where he met Program Manager Leif Bergmann and Managing Director Jesper Nytof with whom he discussed aspects related to marketing, administration, and the concept of combined teaching in this school.
The Henley Nordic School is a branch of the “NordiC” from the United Kingdom which operates on the private management education, with over 4000 managers from over 100 countries of the world every year. Their teaching module based on 1-3 years programs (from certificate to the MBA executive), facilitated by a powerful platform of combined education.
UBT President Dr. Hajrizi also visited the “Niels Brock” Business School where he met consultant John Cyril Knudsen from the Department of Higher Professional Education on International Marketing and Training Activities, which has campuses in China, Vietnam, and the United States.
The “Niels Brock” school was established 125 years ago. It is a commercial school with the high innovative reputation. From its original commercial pre-university education institution, it has developed steadily and today it offers a broad gamma of courses and full programs from basic professional education and training to the bachelor and MBA programs. Actually, it has 25000 students. Around 2000 students from China, Vietnam, and the United States attend courses at the Niels Brock campuses in Denmark and also at the campuses in China, Vietnam, and United States.
It is worth noting that the one-week visit of UBT President Dr. Edmond Hajrizi was organized and supported financially by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which has supported the UBT and the development of the Schools of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning in the Republic of Kosovo.
