Whereas, the Rector of the UBT, Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, spoke among others about higher education in Kosovo and its post-war development.
Hajrizi stressed that in Kosovo currently there are about 110 thousand students and called this a good average of youth participation in higher education in statistical terms.
Dr. Hajrizi stressed that despite the achievements that Kosovo has achieved as a country in transition and with a not very well developed economy and with a high unemployment rate, higher education in the country has its many challenges.
One of the main challenges about which Mr. Hajrizi spoke is the linking of education to economy, a field in which there is more to do, with the aim to ensure a better interconnection between education and economy, a precondition for better development of the two fields.
At the conference, which has gathered numerous officials and representatives of the field of education and economy, a number of significant issues around the raised topic were treated.
