The Rector of the UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, speaking at the ceremony stressed:
We are very honored that you are part of this very important event, which certainly is one of the most special elements in the life of our graduates.
This ceremony is the result that emerges from a several year of yours commitment to study and to build a knowledge and a personality from one of the professions chosen by you, in order to achieve a much higher quality of life for you and for our entire society.
You know that the need for a leader is present everywhere in the world and it is also here in Kosovo. The UBT allowed you to develop a personality, a kind of personality for you to be more prepared professionally, to be committed at work, to have a high level of creativity and innovation, to build partnerships with others, to help yourself and the society.
The work of the UBT is based on facts and results. It has a high cultural and interdisciplinary skill, but it also has a modern communication based on the highest values. Studies at the UBT have exactly this purpose, the provision of tools and conditions for individuals, in this case to our student, to take rational decisions and which guarantee him success and results, based on the highest international values.
Our main task is to offer our student all the conditions and best practices in the science of Management, Business, Economics, in business excellence, in the most modern technologies, mechatronics, robotics, programming, networking, telecommunications, design, in justice and others. This is made possible by a modern curriculum that UBT has developed for years, thanks to a large international collaboration, curricula which conform to the latest trends and developments, and simultaneously based on the requirements arising from the labor market, based on the needs that Kosovo has for professionals. Secondly, the UBT has engaged an academic staff with high experience, with international reputation. This is the 14th year of work and is the 12th generation since we started work with students and studies. We started with 28 students and today we have over 2500 students during the year and from then and now the UBT continues to maintain the position of the best in education, development, leadership, scholarships, with support in employment and many others.
We are proud of you. We have been fortunate to have you here today. With your commitment, you have managed to break the blockade and the numerous obstacles, in becoming ambassadors of our country, convincing that Kosovo has good students.
UBT is not a degree, it is success, prestige, it is pride … This is as a result of your engagement and we will continue to carry these successes also throughout the other generations, said among others Rector Hajrizi.
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Avni Kastrati, addressing the students said: “I express my special pleasure to be here, at the moment when these students close one chapter and begin another. I remember, 40 years ago, when I graduated, under what kind of conditions we have graduated. I am really excited when I see that the UBT is developing, but we have never thought that we can have so many students. Today is a day when you celebrate your successes. You have finished studies, but life is in front of you. Life is hard, but organize yourselves to live well.
It is a day of the completion of an achievement of yours, it is a feeling, but this feeling has a deadline. Starting from tomorrow you will have a different feeling, the feeling of responsibility. Each of us has a burden, to change the country where we live, and then the whole world. In the institution which I come from, we are dedicated to reach out to Europe as much as possible”, said the Deputy Minister of European Integration, Ramadan Ilazi.
In the continuation of the ceremony spoke the professor from Vienna, Dr. Engelbert Selenko, who has a longstanding commitment to the UBT and is very familiar with the students.
“I have come from Vienna and I feel very honored to have helped the UBT. I came the first time, with all the optimism that Mr. Hajrizi had to do something in Kosovo. Your country and the optimism has remarkably progressed during these 15 years. Once I was also in your place, I asked myself where my place in society would be. It seemed to me that it was a closed system. Like today I remember the feelings I had. I remember the first lesson I had at the University of Vienna in economics. The professor spoke for an hour, looked at the audience and said: It seems that no one understood anything”. Then, to simplify, he said: “A good manager must not know all the things, but he must be able to choose the right one for the right job”, said Professor Selenko.
The ceremony was also honored with a word by Dr. Jozef Bushati from the University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi”.
“I congratulate you on behalf of the staff of the University “Luigj Gurakuqi”. The UBT in these 14 years is driven by advanced models, all of you, together, have put all your energies towards knowledge and development. You are authors and experiencers of the big achievements. This academic year was a year of the inclusion of the administrative personnel at all levels to increase the quality of student services. Students are the power of change”, said Dr. Bushati.
On behalf of the UBT Alumni spoke Leana Mahmuti, who has graduated in architecture at the UBT, whereas on behalf of the graduated today colleagues, Armira Fetoshi, expressed her gratitude.
