Curriculum Structure

In the Media and Communication program, the academic year is organized into two semesters: the winter semester and the summer semester. The winter semester begins in October and lasts 15 weeks, of which 12 weeks students attend continuing education and 3 weeks for individual preparation for the final exams. The verification of the winter semester and the registration of the summer semester lasts two weeks.

The summer semester begins in March and lasts 15 weeks, of which 12 weeks students attend continuous lectures and 7 weeks for individual preparation for the final exams.

The study program in Languages, Media and Communication is provided with infrastructure and supporting resources.

The lecture halls are adapted to the nature of work for media and communication students, for classroom lectures and for group work, preferable for the implementation of more complex projects.

They are equipped with internet connections and other equipment that enable the presentation and analysis of practical examples related to specific research areas.

The UBT Library provides access to online databases for research to currently enrolled students, faculty members, and staff members with an active UBT College ID, and users can access them only within the UBT area. The UBT Library provides access to: EBSCO, SAGE Journals, and JSTOR Journals.

The UBT Library has about 1400 media titles for language, media, and communication alone. Selected reading is sufficient to help the student successfully complete the study program.

In its mission, UBT has also incorporated research as one of the three main pillars of this level of study, ranking it as a second criterion after effective teaching and before community service.

At this point, the tasks are defined:

  • Intensification of scientific research, involving students in the process of developing research projects within and outside the country;
  • Development of scientific research work in accordance with the requirements of the country’s economy, in the spirit of strategic and development documents for the country, as well as in accordance with the developments and goals of the international community in the field of higher education;
  • Promotion of standard scientific practices, techniques and methodologies that strengthen the skills and profession of civil engineering;
  • Promotion and active participation in forums, debates, seminars, workshops, summer academies,

conferences, congresses, etc., organized by UBT itself and the international community for science, technology and innovation;

During the two years of study, students will attend lectures on assigned subjects for three semesters, including projects, participation in conferences and publications.

This study program aims to prepare new generations of Language, Media and Communication and Public Relations professionals, so that they can play an essential role in public institutions and private corporations, as well as in the qualitative development of the media.
