UBT places Kosovo in the most important research network in Europe, COST ACTION
30/07/2019Thanks to UBT, Kosovo has achieved yet another success in the international arena by becoming a member of the European Organization of Science and Technology, “COST Action”.
Specifically, with the initiative and work of the Project of Construction engineering and Infrastructure, Dr. Visar Krelani, as well as the support of the Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi and the dean of the FNI, Dr. Muhamet Ahmeti, is already listed in the list of countries that will offer assistance in the development of science and technology.
UBT has met all the necessary requirements and fulfilled the conditions to join Kosovo as a country in this network, and in particular, in Action CA 15205 – Self Healing as Preventive Repair of Concrete Structures, with about 30 member countries, including Kosovo as an international partner country.
This project is managed by Cambridge University, together with partner universities, Politecnico di Milano, Ghent University, Delft University of Technology, etc.
Thanks to this membership, the Faculty of Engineering of Construction and Infrastructure enters the network of European and world faculties, which will benefit and disseminate its experiences and represent our country in real scientific environments.
The European Science and Technology Organization (COST) is a financial organization for establishing research networks called COST Actions, connecting all scientific researchers in Europe and abroad as the main driver in advancing research and innovation.
COST ACTION has existed since 1971 and accepts European Union funding through various research and innovation frameworks, such as Horizon 2020.
