Laboratories, Centers and Institutes:
The research activity within the UBT is organized and managed in accordance with the international regulation for research and evaluation, with general competence and responsibility.
To achieve this, UBT ensures that:
UBT supports research through mechanisms such as: Research Fund, Research Training and Support for Foreign Research Applications. The Research Fund supports research that closely aligns with the College’s strategic priorities. The general principle governing the distribution of all research funding in the College is that it should be seen as an investment that will maximize the range of outcomes that the College expects to come from staff and student research. A portion of the Research Fund supports early career researchers and is allocated to the Research Programme. All applications for external funding must be submitted through the Research Programme. Applications made will be managed by the Research Programme. Liaising with applicant(s), deans, center directors and funder.
The Food Sciences and Biotechnology (BSc) program has been accredited and operationalized in the 2018/19 academic year. Since the accreditation, despite the regular teaching process, efforts have been permanently made to strengthen the research component within the program.
The compilation and implementation of the research plan within the Food Sciences and Biotechnology (BSc) program is fully consistent with the overall strategy of the College in relation to the research part, the mission and the purpose of UBT; to support the sustainable development and progress of the society and economy of Kosovo in general.
The main objectives of the research plan are related to the creation of scientific research centers, stimulating the development of research activities and groups, maximizing the opportunities for research groups to create an appropriate critical mass, strengthen and build relationships and partnerships with stakeholders interested in industry, academia and the public sector.
The provision of laboratories with new modern equipment, the expansion of existing operating spaces, the continuous training of academic staff in order to acquire and apply new research methods, as well as the engagement of students in all these processes remain the main objectives of the Science program. of Food and Biotechnology (BSc).
