Kosovo joins the International Federation of Sports Medicine

Kosovo has successfully become a member of the largest International Federation of Sports Medicine. With the support and endorsement of UBT, the “Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine” has been established, making it the only organization from Kosovo to join the International Federation of Sports Medicine, thus ranking Kosovo among more than 117 countries that are part of this association.

The Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, stated that the membership of the “Kosovo Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine” in the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) is an added and significant value for the entire country.

“Sports Medicine is a highly important field that plays a key role in physical fitness, treatment, and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. This membership in the International Federation of Sports Medicine is a very important step for Kosovo towards the development of sports medicine in the country, and UBT, through the Faculty of Sports Sciences, will provide continuous contributions to its promotion,” said Rector Hajrizi.

The International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) is the home of four continental associations of Sports Medicine and 117 national associations of Sports Medicine worldwide, bringing together more than 125,000 sports physicians, strongly committed to promoting the development of Sports Medicine.
